Kewaunee County Economic Development Corporation (KCEDC) Executive Director Ben Nelson outlined housing along with broadband and mid-sized business diversification as major parts of KCEDC's strategic plan in his quarterly report to the Kewaunee County Board on March 21, 2023.
A major talking point during Nelson's conversations with local business leaders has been increasing the availability of housing options so prospective employees can move to the area.
On the agenda for the upcoming Door/Kewaunee Legislative Days is asking for an increase in percentage of housing tax credits allocated toward rural housing development. The Legislative Days events are scheduled for April 19-20, 2023 in Madison.
