Ag Career Days Returns to Kewaunee County in 2023

Kewaunee County Economic Development Corporation (KCEDC) is excited to bring back Ag Career Days in 2023.

Kewaunee County Ag Career Days 2023

Ag Career Days is a hands-on opportunity for middle-school students to explore careers in agriculture that includes everything from cheese-making to animal care. Approximately 900 students from Algoma, Denmark, Kewaunee, Luxemburg-Casco and Southern Door school districts as well as area parochial and home-schoolers will learn about the various aspects of agriculture, allowing them to tailor their high-school coursework towards a planned career path.

Students have the opportunity to learn about agronomy, cropping, horticulture, animals, animal nutrition, milk testing, cheese making, agriculture support services, the business of agriculture, and technology.

Agriculture has a large economic impact in Kewaunee County totaling over $80 million with $65 million coming from the dairy industry. Approximately 2,300 jobs in Kewaunee County alone are directly tied to agriculture.

Established as a biennial event, KCEDC launched Ag Career Days in 2012 so students could see how their interests could turn in to a potential career in the agriculture industry.

This two-day event will be held April 18 - 19, 2023 at Pagel’s Ponderosa Dairy located at N4893 County C in Kewaunee, WI. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or volunteering at the event, contact Ben Nelson, KCEDC Executive Director at ben.nelson@kcedc.org. or 920-255-1661.
